Dingdok is a desktop application for downloading, archiving, and organizing video you own or are licensed to use. This policy explains what data the app and this website handle, why they handle it, and the choices you have. It applies to Dingdok for Windows and macOS.

1. Summary

  • Dingdok does not collect or upload the media you download.
  • Your queue, history, and file names stay on your device.
  • No analytics or advertising SDKs are bundled in the app.
  • The only routine network calls are those needed to reach the source site you choose, plus optional license activation and update checks.

2. Data we process

2.1 Data stored on your device

  • Download queue and history.
  • Settings, folder templates, and quality preferences.
  • Logs used for troubleshooting.
  • Temporary cache fragments, deleted after a download completes.

This data stays local unless you deliberately export or share it.

2.2 Data sent to the license server

For paid editions only, activation sends:

  • The license key.
  • A device fingerprint derived from hardware identifiers.
  • The app version and platform.

Activation is required once; afterwards the license is verified offline.

2.3 Data sent for updates

The app may request a small version manifest containing the current app version and platform, so it can tell you whether an update exists. You can disable this under Settings.

3. What we do not collect

  • Downloaded media or their contents.
  • The URLs you parse, except when you attach them to a support request.
  • Browsing or download history on our servers.
  • Payment card details; payments are handled entirely by our reseller.

We process the limited data above to provide the license you purchased, to deliver updates, and to respond to support requests. Where required, processing relies on the performance of your contract or your consent.

5. Retention

  • Local data remains until you delete it or remove the app support folder.
  • Activation records are kept while your license is active and for a short period afterwards to prevent abuse.
  • Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the issue.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the support contact below.

7. Children

Dingdok is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, announced in the app or on this site.
