A subscription turns a channel or playlist into a set that stays current on its own. Dingdok checks it on a schedule, queues anything new, and skips what you already have.
What you can subscribe to
- A channel or creator page.
- A public playlist.
- A saved search where the platform supports it.
Subscriptions work best for ongoing series, weekly shows, and channels you archive for reference.
Creating a subscription
- Click Add subscription in the Subscriptions view.
- Paste the channel or playlist URL.
- Give it a name you will recognise later.
- Choose a quality preference and a folder template if you want one per subscription.
- Set the check interval and click Create.
Dingdok parses the set immediately and queues any items not yet in your library.
How new items are detected
On each check Dingdok reads the current item list and compares it with what it has already downloaded. New entries are queued; existing ones are skipped using the same duplicate detection as manual batches. Nothing is downloaded twice.
Managing subscriptions
- Pause a subscription without deleting it.
- Run now to check immediately instead of waiting for the next interval.
- Edit the quality, folder, or interval.
- Backfill to queue older items you chose to skip initially.
Limits and good practice
- Keep intervals reasonable. Checking a channel every few minutes is unnecessary and increases the chance of rate limiting.
- Subscribe to tens, not thousands, of sources if you want timely checks.
- Subscriptions never bypass a login; login-only channels are marked as unsupported.
